Chaplain Fox honored by house

Representative Mark McBride and the Oklahoma House of Representatives honored veteran David Owen Fox, the current Chaplain at the Veteran’s Center in Norman, with a citation for his dedication to his country, family, and the veterans of Oklahoma. Chaplain Fox is a client NewView Oklahoma.

Chaplain Fox was a young man of 17 when he enlisted in the Navy and served three years. He was honorably discharged with a thousand other men who had been to a nuclear test site during their tour, the cause of his current vision and hearing loss.

After an impressive career with NASA, Chaplain Fox joined the Norman Veteran’s Center and says that his work at the center is the most “exciting, challenging and rewarding” that he’s ever done. He preaches to over 200 veterans every Sunday and calls them his family.

He has 9 children and 32 grandchildren, including some great-great-grandchildren! He and his wife Marty have fostered children and helped raise several of their grandchildren, including their 2-year old granddaughter with them now.

NewView is proud to have provided services to Chaplain Fox to help him gain more independence and continue his work with the veterans of Oklahoma.

Congratulations Chaplain Fox!
