EMpowering Athletes who are blind or low vision
Adaptive sports give individuals who are blind or have low vision the chance to compete, build confidence, and stay active in a supportive community. At NewView Oklahoma, we proudly offer two of the most dynamic and inclusive adaptive sports in the world: Beep Baseball and Goalball.
These sports rely on sound, touch, teamwork, and strategy—proving that athletic ability is not defined by sight, but by skill, determination, and opportunity.

Beep baseball (beep ball)
Beep baseball is a fast‑paced, high‑energy adaptation of America’s favorite pastime. Instead of relying on sight, athletes track a beeping ball and buzzing bases to field, hit, and score. The result is a competitive, full‑contact sport that demands focus, communication, and grit.
HOW IT WORKS:
- The ball emits a steady beep so fielders can locate it by sound.
- First and third bases buzz to guide runners.
- All players wear blindfolds to ensure equal play.
- Teams rely on strategy, communication, and trust to succeed.
Beep baseball builds strength, spatial awareness, and teamwork. It also creates a powerful sense of community—on and off the field.
THE OKLAHOMA LOOKOUTS

NewView Oklahoma is home to the Oklahoma Lookouts, our competitive beep baseball team. Formed in 2023, the Lookouts have quickly become a standout presence in the National Beep Baseball Association, competing at regional tournaments and the annual Beep Baseball World Series.
Whether you’re an experienced athlete or brand‑new to the sport, the Lookouts welcome players of all skill levels.
Join us at the Sooner State Beep Ball Classic on July 10-12 at Mohawk Park in Tulsa.
goal ball
Goalball is a Paralympic sport designed specifically for athletes who are blind or low vision. Played on an indoor court, the game centers around a ball embedded with bells that players track entirely by sound.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Teams of three compete on each side of the court.
- Players roll the ball toward the opposing goal at high speed.
- Defenders use their bodies to block the ball, guided only by sound.
- All athletes wear blackout goggles to ensure equal play.
Goalball strengthens communication, reaction time, and full‑body coordination. It’s also one of the most inclusive and community‑building sports available to individuals with vision loss.
NewView Oklahoma offers goalball opportunities for youth and adults, from beginners learning the basics to athletes interested in competitive play.
