IRA Rollover – Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
NewView donors can gift all or a portion of their Required Minimum Distribution, up to $108,000 annually.
What Is an IRA Rollover Gift?
If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a charitable gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to NewView Oklahoma. This type of gift is also called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
Why It Matters for You
- Satisfies your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD): If you are age 73 or older, the IRS requires you to withdraw a minimum amount from your IRA each year. A rollover gift counts toward that requirement.
- Avoids added taxable income: Normally, withdrawals from your IRA are considered as taxable income. But when you direct the funds straight to NewView, they are excluded from your income—helping you reduce your tax liability.
Gives more at no extra cost: Since the gift is tax-free, it can be more cost-effective than donating after-tax dollars.
The Details
