summer EXPERIENCES
NewView Oklahoma believes that every child deserves to have a summer camp experience, and that’s why OWL Camp (Oklahomans Without Limits) and Keys to Work were created for children and young adults who are blind or have low vision.
Camp activities are carefully planned and designed to encourage collaboration, improve confidence, self-esteem, independence, and challenge societal and self-imposed limits.
OWL Camp – AGES 8 THROUGH 16
June 28 – July 2, 2026
YMCA Camp Classen
OWL campers participate in activities such as rock-climbing, archery, horseback riding, swimming and kayaking. New activities are added every year to create a unique camper experience. OWL Camp is structured specifically to engage sighted children and those with vision loss. The goal is to create a lasting impact that improves camper confidence.
KEYS to Work – AGES 17 THROUGH 22
July 19 – July 31, 2026
NewView offers a Keys to Work program at our OKC Clinic to support young adults preparing for big life transitions. Keys to Work provides an immersive, hands-on experience with the latest assistive technology and works to teach resume building, interview skills, self-advocacy, and offers networking opportunities with professionals in the Oklahoma City market. Young adults in the program also learn independent living skills including cooking, cleaning, organization, and independent travel. Upon completing the program, they gain the skills and an individualized plan that will serve as a road map for future success. They experience dramatic shifts in perspective as they work with the NewView rehabilitation team to learn essential skills; they leave with the confidence to consider a fulfilling future with a level of independence they never thought possible.
