NewView Oklahoma, Areawide Aging, and DHS to expand low vision services to seniors isolated due to COVID-19
Oklahoma City, OK (Jan. 5, 2021) – The COVID – 19 pandemic has escalated the effects of vision loss on our senior community. As a result of the current climate of social-distancing, combined with the inability to cope with blindness, our seniors are facing increased isolation, loss of hope, threat of injury, and the prospect of losing their independence. Areawide Aging Agency and NewView Oklahoma, along with the Department of Human Services and United Way of Central Oklahoma are holding a press conference to announce an upcoming partnership to serve vulnerable seniors with vision loss in Oklahoma.
