White Cane Day

Join us in celebrating White Cane Day! 

This is a national awareness day dedicated to the white cane as both a mobility tool and a symbol of freedom. For users, it extends their senses, allowing them to navigate safely, detect obstacles, and identify changes in ground texture. Beyond this practical function, the white cane signals to the public that the person is blind or has low vision.

What to Expect:

• Light refreshments
• A tour of NewView’s Classen location, showcasing the services we offer to those who are blind or have low vision
• The chance to ask questions and connect with others in the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community
• An opportunity to learn how NewView helps individuals achieve greater independence
