Low Vision summer Camps
BECAUSE every child deserves a summer camp experience
About NewView Camps
NewView Oklahoma believes that every child deserves to have a summer camp experience, and that’s why OWL Camp, or Oklahomans Without Limits, and Keys to Work were created for children and young adults who are blind or have low vision.
Camp activities are carefully planned and designed to encourage collaboration, improve confidence, self-esteem, independence, and challenge societal and self-imposed limits.
Available Camps:
OKC – OWL Camp – AGES 8 THROUGH 13
The OWL camp designated for younger campers pairs every child with a sighted buddy. Campers and their sighted buddies will participate in activities such as rock-climbing, archery, horseback riding, swimming and kayaking. New activities are added every year to create a unique camper experience. OWL Camp is structured specifically to engage sighted children and those with vision loss. The goal is to create a lasting impact that improves camper confidence.

Helping students who are blind or have low vision transition from high school to independent living.
NewView offers a Keys to Work camp experience to support high school students preparing for graduation with big life transitions. Keys to Work provides an immersive, hands-on experience with the latest assistive technology and works to teach resume building, interview skills, self-advocacy, and offers networking opportunities with professionals in the Oklahoma City market. Participants in the program also learn independent living skills including cooking, cleaning, organization, and independent travel. Upon completing the program, young adults living with blindness or low vision gain the skills and an individualized plan that will serve as a road map for future success. Campers experience dramatic shifts in perspective as they work with the NewView rehabilitation team to learn essential skills; they leave with the confidence to consider a fulfilling future with a level of independence they never thought possible.
