OWL Camps

OWL (Oklahomans Without Limits) Camp is NewView Oklahoma’s free summer camp for kids ages 8-18, who are blind and low vision!

NewView Oklahoma believes that every child deserves to have a summer camp experience. OWL Camp was created in 2000 and has grown to two weeks of camp hosting 30 - 40 campers. Camp activities are carefully planned and designed to encourage collaboration, improve confidence, self-esteem, and independence, and challenge societal and self-imposed limits through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, with a new theme each year!

Dates for 2023 OWL Camps have not yet been determined. Information will be updated as it becomes available. Stay tuned!

Campers between 15 and 18 years old participated in adaptive water activities such as water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing with internationally renowned adaptive water instructors at Lake Tenkiller. Campers also enjoyed activities like fishing, swimming, and boat rides, in addition to learning and practicing healthy life skills.
Younger campers between the ages of 8 and 14 years old stayed on the beautiful University of Central Oklahoma campus with Sighted Buddies, participated in themed activities, and went on amazing trips to local treasures like the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Zoo, and more!

To keep up with the amazing growth and expressed interest from applicants, the community, and program partners, we’re continually implementing new components to our camp structure that allows for even more participation!
