SUMMARY:2025 Beep Baseball Spring Invitational
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\nWe will be playing at Buck Thomas Park in Moore on the football fields. There will be plenty of signage to help you find your way\, but we recommend entering the park from NE 12th St. Turn north onto Buck Thomas St E\, near the water tower and tennis courts. The fields are on the east side of the street. \n\n\n\nAddress: 1903 NE 12th St\, Moore\, OK 73160 \n\n\n\nNewView Oklahoma is working to host our second annual Spring Invitational Beep Baseball Tournament that will allow athletes from all over the country to come together and engage in adaptive sports. This will be a three-day event with a welcome cookout at the Douglas Manufacturing Facility on May 16th. The welcome cookout will serve as an opening ceremony and opportunity to meet the athletes\, try your hand at beep baseball\, and more fun and games before the tournament kicks off. The event is expected to host 100 low-vision athletes with their team volunteers for the weekend in addition to community leaders and sponsors. Sponsorships will help cover the cost of facilities\, equipment\, and athlete scholarships in addition to funding clinical services through NewView Oklahoma. \n\n\n\nBecome a sponsor\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to sponsor\, or feel called to support in a different way\, we are in need of volunteers! We will need several volunteers each day to help the games run smoothly. A variety of positions are available\, from base judging to floating. PLEASE JOIN US NEXT YEAR IN OKC.\n\n\n\nNewView is excited to announce guest of honor\, Karen Keith\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNewView is excited to announce that Oklahoma native\, Tulsa County Commissioner\, and Tulsa Mayoral candidate\, Karen Keith\, will be our guest of honor at this year’s Blackout Banquet being hosted in honor of Karen’s sister\, Kathy Denton. Kathy was a fierce advocate for her community\, known for putting other’s needs ahead of her own\, with a passion for serving Oklahomans who are blind or have low vision. She worked in the Jenks school district as a teacher’s assistant and paraprofessional for visually impaired students\, where she proceeded to teach herself Braille to translate educational materials for her students. In this capacity\, Kathy worked with many of NewView’s clients and employees\, providing life-changing services during their developmental years. She was also an avid volunteer at NewView community events\, and passionately served the veteran community. She was known to be available to students all the time\, even after-hours. Kathy undoubtedly touched hundreds of lives and improved essential values like independence and confidence in the students she served. Kathy passed away in 2022 and is missed deeply by her family and community. We are greatly humbled by the opportunity to honor such an incredible person at this year’s event. \n\n\n\nFEAST ALL OF YOUR SENSES\, BUT ONE.\n\n\n\nJoin us for a unique fine dining experience. Isla’s Kitchen and Chef Myles McClanahan with Justin Thompson Group will be preparing an exclusive four-course meal with alcohol pairings for our guests to enjoy fully blindfolded. \n\n\n\nLet one of NewView Oklahoma’s expert staff members guide you through your meal as you learn what life is like from the point of view of someone who is blind.
