Vision Loss means a New Beginning
Vision loss changes how you experience the world, but it doesn’t have to limit what’s possible. At NewView Oklahoma, we help people who are blind or have low vision live full, confident, and independent lives through practical training, meaningful employment, and vibrant community programs.
For 75 years, we’ve walked alongside Oklahomans with vision loss, proving every day that ability is not defined by sight.

Losing your vision doesn’t mean losing your independence, community, or purpose. With the right tools and support, a vibrant life is absolutely possible.
NewView Oklahoma exists to offer hope and practical solutions to individuals who are blind or have low vision.
Our educational focus centers on empowering people to live independent, fulfilling lives through three core pillars: comprehensive low-vision rehabilitation, vocational training & employment and inclusive community programming.
our mission at a glance
Empowering independence through three pillars of service…
We help our clients learn essential daily living skills, master assistive technology, and navigate the world with confidence.
We help our clients gain the skills needed to thrive in the workplace. Our focus is on creating accessible career pathways.
From youth camps to adaptive sports and art classes, our programs fight isolation and build belonging.
“Vision loss doesn’t define who you are—it opens the door to new ways of living fully. At NewView, we walk that path with you.”
Addressing Real Barriers With Real Solutions
ACCESS TO CARE
Insurance covers only a fraction of essential services. NewView fills the gap so no one is turned away, and we are able to do so thanks to our incredibly generous community of donors.
ACCESSIBILITY
Many workplace technologies remain incompatible with assistive tools, creating barriers to advancement. We advocate for change and provide training to bridge that gap.
TRANSPORTATION & ISOLATION
A lack of transportation, orientation and mobility training, and awareness can lead to isolation for many individuals. We create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected.

In 2024, NewView Oklahoma delivered more than 7,500 direct service appointments to individuals living with vision loss—including eye exams, assistive technology training, occupational therapy, and orientation and mobility sessions. Through school-based services, summer camps, and immersive vocational training, we’re also equipping the next generation with the skills and confidence to thrive independently.
And with nearly 10,000 Oklahomans reached through outreach and education, we’re working to ensure no one facing vision loss has to do it alone. But demand is rising—and the cost of delivering accessible, high-quality care continues to grow.
